Housed in the historic Edificio España — an eight-floor neo-baroque landmark right on the Gran Vía — the Hotel RIU Plaza España is as much a Madrid experience as a conference venue. With 27 floors, sweeping city views from its rooftop Sky Bar, and a location steps from Plaza de España, it sets the scene perfectly for three days of big conversations.

Curated Activities for Congress Attendees

We’ve put together a series of optional activities for registered delegates — a chance to see more of Madrid and the region around it, beyond the sessions.

Attendees can book their Aranjuez and El Escorial excursions here.

To opt in for the Tuesday walking tour, Taste of Madrid Experience and Workshops – please fill in the form here.

Tuesday 13 October:

Aranjuez & Wine Tasting — Travel to the royal town of Aranjuez, a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape, for a guided visit of the Royal Palace and gardens, followed by a wine tasting at Casa del Valle Winery. Includes bus transfer, guided visits and English-speaking guide. (5 hours, fees apply, limited spaces) Organised with support of Comunidad de Madrid.

Guided Walking Tour of Madrid — In the afternoon, explore the city on foot with a local guide through some of Madrid’s most iconic streets and landmarks. (Complimentary, limited spaces) With the support of Madrid City Council.

Both options conclude in time for the Welcome Evening — the full Congress community together for the first time at Casa de América, one of Madrid’s most beautiful venues. An oasis in the heart of the city, and the perfect place to start the week.

Wednesday 14th October

Instead of one set evening for everyone, choose your own way to experience the city. All Taste of Madrid experiences are complimentary for registered delegates.

🍽️ Gastronomy — Kitchen Club

The evening kicks off with a welcome drink and appetizers before you roll up your sleeves for a paella cook-off. Split into teams, given a recipe and a set of ingredients, you’ll have 40 minutes to impress a jury — then sit down together for a full cocktail dinner with 5 courses and with wine. A proper feast, and a lot of fun.

💃 Flamenco —Emociones, Teatro Flamenco Madrid

One of Spain’s most powerful art forms, live and up close. Exceptional dancers, singers and guitarists take to the stage for a show that’s passionate, visceral and genuinely moving. Arrive from 20:15 to settle in with a welcome drink before the performance begins at 20:45. Guests make their own way to and from the venue.

Sponsored by Madrid City Council.

⚽ Football — Beer Station

Watch Real Madrid vs Roma (UEFA) on the big screen at a lively local bar, walking distance from the hotel. A reserved area, food and drinks included — no fuss, just a great night out.
